08/13/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Joseph is a 2028 middle infielder/outfielder who shows consistent athleticism on the diamond. He showed mobility up the middle mostly to his glove side and shows accuracy on his throws across the diamond. In the outfield, he catches fly balls at their high point which allows him to get into a throwing position quicker. Arm strength was up 7mph since we last saw him now up to 65mph. He shaved 2/10ths of a second off his 60 yard dash now down to 8.68 seconds. At the plate, exit velocities touching 68mph. He gets extension with a level path and uses the whole field. Joseph is on the up and up.

11/04/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City Joseph is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at Pirate City. In the field, Joseph takes a quick first step and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Long tossing can help Joseph build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He gets into a small load and engages his lower half well. He works through a level swing with good extension and sprays line drives to all fields. Joseph can become a bigger threat at the plate by continuing to develop his switch hitting. With seven more years to develop, Joseph has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
