01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Joseph is a 2027 OF/RHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. In the OF, he does a nice job pre-pitch of getting on the balls of his feet in a ready position. He shows off active footwork and gets a solid first step. He does a nice job of getting his body in a good position to make throws into the infield and he makes accurate throws from an overhand slot. At the plate, he starts in an open stance with comfortable hands. He has a simple load and does a good job of getting his lower half involved. His swing is on-plane to the baseball and he displays impressive bat speed. He made some hard, consistent contact and flashed good power. He recorded an impressive exit velo of 80 MPH and he reached base in 6 of 7 plate appearances in game action with 6 walks, showing the ability to be patient and not chase. On the mound, he has a good presence and a good feel for the position with a high level of compete. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. His arm action is clean and he does a good job of staying direct to the plate with a proper stride length. He has the ability to throw strikes with all three of his offerings, and he struck out 4 in 3 innings of game action while allowing only one hit. Joseph should continue to develop well and will definitely be a prospect to keep an eye on!

10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027) Joseph is a tall 5ft 11/165 OF/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows athletic and fast twitch actions. He displays active feet and agile in his ball pursuit. Fields out in front with a clean exchange. Shows a quick release from an over-the-top release. Ball flight has life along with accuracy at 77-9 velo. On the mound, he is aggressive while maintain composure. Uses a 3qtr. slot and is a strike thrower. His FB sat 72-4 with run and commanded both sides of the plate. His CB shaped at 10-4 with a gradual break. CH is a solid pitch and showed running actions. Working to incorporate his Off-speed more will be a key factor moving forward on the mound. At the plate, he likes to attack the ball early in the count. Uses a short stride from a crouched stance. Works to get his backside through and bat stays on-plane. Joseph is a weapon on the paths and makes excellent decisions while working hard to gain the extra 90. Overall, he is a solid player and looks to have a bright future in the game.

03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY Joseph is a lean OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 69-71 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and throws more strikes. With 4 years to further develop, Joseph has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
