05/19/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Poughkeepsie, NY Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop time has improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.60 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks the ball well and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get his body down sooner to improve grade.

07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Joseph is a 2022 OF/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. In the field, Joseph makes the routine play and works to make accurate throws to his target. Joseph can improve defensively by quickening his footwork. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and maintains center balance. He takes a direct swing to the ball and produces line drives. Joseph can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Joseph has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

05/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Joseph is a young, 2-way player who catches and plays OF. Behind the plate, Joseph holds a good target, he has raw ability, and playable footwork. He keeps the ball in front of his body, his exchange is clean, and he throws with some accuracy to his target. In the OF, Joseph has efficient footwork, he fields the ball aggressively, and he throws with some accuracy to his cutoff man. At the plate, Joseph has an open stance, a good load, and he puts the bat on the ball. Joseph will need to work on the following in order to improve skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
