09/08/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Fresno, CA Joseph is an athletic and scrappy 2020 OF prospect that continue to improve with experience. In the OF, Joseph is on time with his prep step, he gets a good jump on the ball, and makes the routine play. He works behind the ball, he has a decent crow hop, and he makes accurate throws. At the plate, Joseph starts in an open stance, he has movement in his hands during his load, and gets to balance at contact. He creates backside drive with his lower half, and has fast hands. He has a pull side approach with a good finish. Joseph continue to work hard and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/23/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Fresno, CA Joseph is a strong OF/LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Joseph shows efficient footwork and is aggressive attacking the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front. He throws from a low 3/4 angle and works to make accurate throws to his target. Joseph can improve defensively by making a quicker exchange to throw. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits from a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. Joseph can improve as a hitter by keeping his weight back. On the mound, Joseph keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and keeps all of his pitches around the zone. He works with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 61-65mph with 1-7 break. Joseph can improve as a pitcher by loosening his arm action. Overall, Joseph is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Fastball shows good sinking action and he hides the ball well. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the diamond.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 64-66 mph with tailing action. Control is solid as he throws lots of strikes and works to get ahead of hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

07/14/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Joseph is a hardworking OF/LHP prospect who has a well-rounded skill set and graduates in 2020. As a left-handed hitter, Joseph has an open setup with a firm front side and his weight in the back of his stance. He takes a load with a short stride. Joseph has smooth rhythm with his hands and gets good extension producing consistent contact. He stays loose throughout his swing and has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Joseph plays with active footwork and smooth rhythm taking effective angles to cover good ground. He has an aggressive approach and attacks the baseball. He fields the ball in a low, athletic position doing a nice job keeping everything in front of him. Joseph has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistent throws. On the mound, Joseph has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his head on his target and stays square with a controlled landing. His fastball has sink movement. Overall, Joseph is hardworking prospect who has a solid approach to the game giving him good potential to advance his skills to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
