10/07/2018 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and aggressive as he attacks balls in the zone. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he continues to build arm strength with frame.

12/09/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training HS- Columbia, MD Joseph is a coachable hitter who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and is fluid getting into his load. He comes through well with his lower half and produces explosive bat speed. He takes a level swing which leads to hard contact and gap to gap pop. Joseph can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride. Overall, Joseph is a solid hitter who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/07/2017 - FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend (14-18) Joe is a RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, this righty shows good body control and separates his hands on time. He has a loose, clean arm action and finishes square to his target. Joe shows a four pitch mix with his four seam fastball topping out at 75mph with cutting action. Two seam fastball tops out at 72mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 64-67mph with good sinking action as he throws with fastball arm speed. Joe can improve as a pitcher by consistently keeping his front side strong. Overall, Joe is a solid RHP prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the mound.

07/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Joseph is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Defensively at 3B, he displays fluid footwork and fields GB's with smooth hands. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He works downhill and pounds the zone with strikes staying directional towards home plate. With the stick, Joseph shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He rips his lower 1/2, stays balanced and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
