Official Scouting Report

  • Position Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Joseph is a 2025 RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All America event. He has a high 3/4 arm slot, clean arm action, and gets good separation upon release. Joseph has a pitchers body and competes on the mound. Joseph has a 3 pitch mix that he can throw all for strikes. His FB works from corner to corner and has late cut that topped at 81mph. His SL he can throw in all counts and has good break. He also has a CH that is probably his best pitch and has good feel for that sat around 73mph. that has more horizontal action. In his outing, Joseph did a great job competing and was a great defender on the mound as well. In the future, we foresee Joseph to be a great asset to a program at the next level.

10/05/2022 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2025) Joseph is a talented 1B/RHP in the 2025 class. Has the frame (6ft four/210) to be a special target for his defenders. Fields in an athletic position and has soft hands. Exchanges are clean and uses short arm action from a high ¾ release. Feeds have carry (96 velo) and is accurate to his targets. Working to be in sync with the pitcher for his pre-pitch movements. This will increase his 1st step quickness. On the mound, he has an electric and live arm. He projects as a power pitcher this moment and with more feel for his off-speed, he can become a complete pitcher. His Fb sat 82-5, had tailing action and pounded the zone. His CH sat 68-71 with sink and maintain his FB arm speed, he will create more deception. At the plate, he has power (88 exit velo) to the gaps. He has great rhythm and stays balanced. Hands are fast and uses a short and direct barrel path. Had an exception weekend at the plate, registering 3 hits in 8 trips and rarely had a swing and miss. Overall, Joseph is an impressive talent and scouts are eager to see his progress. A must follow in the 2025 class.

07/20/2022 - Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Joseph is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Large frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and fields from the ground up. Creates good fielding angles and keeps eyes behind glove on backhand. Long arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base at 88 mph. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, Joseph works with good direction and is balanced at release. Keeps his eyes on target and keeps frontside closed. Throws a FB that topped out at 87 mph and an 10/4 shaped breaking ball with tight spin and good depth. Showed ability to field his position. In 2 innings of work during live games, he struck out 5 and didn't allow many hits. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic stance. Athletic setup, with a square stride, enables him to drive balls to all fields. Showed good awareness of the strike zone and hit 3 doubles in live game action. He also had multiple RBI’s and recorded a bat exit velocity of 89 mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

03/06/2022 - All-In Membership - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Joseph is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame, with strong lower half, athletic build with strength present and room to fill throughout. In the infield, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and active footwork. Creates good fielding angles and works behind the baseball with his eyes behind glove. Fields from a square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a low funnel. Made on-line throws consistently from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 87mph. Showed good bag awareness and ability to stretch and dig balls out of the dirt. A right-handed pitcher, has long levers and projectible frame. He engages his lower half and separates his hands on time. He works with good direction and gets his chest over his front knee. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 78mph with plus command. Mixed in a breaking ball with good depth and a changeup with tailing action that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Starts with a small hand load as he hits into a firm front side with the ability to keep barrel in the zone a long time. Showed a flat barrel path as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
