01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Joseph is a 2016 prospect who is one of the rare players that projects to stay in CF at the next level. He has straight line speed (6.87 at the 60 in this event), first step quickness and the ability to quickly read and react to balls off the bat. He closes well and is a confident and aggressive defender. At the plate Joseph has a compact level RH stroke. He has excellent strike zone awareness and has solid at bats against quality pitching. In addition, once he gets on base he has instincts there as well and puts pressure on the defense. Overall, Joseph does several things well on the baseball field and will help a program at the next level.

11/08/2015 - College PREP - Lake Elsinore (Los Angeles), CA Joseph is an athletic OF who has speed and the all-around skills that will make things happen on the diamond. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes with speed (60 yard dash in 6.79). He covers ground and works into position behind the ball. He has a clean exchange while firing strong/accurate throws with carry into his target. As a hitter - Joseph shows a square setup with good balanced and rhythm in his hands. Barrel delivery is quick through a level path as he connects and drives it with some pop. He hits the ball where it's pitched with the ability to spray the gaps. Joseph is a talented OF prospect whose tools will translate well into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
