11/19/2011 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Commuter)
Josh has a strong stance, and nice stride and load position, he also has good hand and bat placement in the stance and stride and load. Josh also does a very good job of using his lower half during the swing, giving him pretty good power, but he needs to focus on his upper body and arms during the swing to get the most out of his swing. He tends to let his arms leak forward during the swing, causing him to drag his hands and bat through the zone. This causes him to lose power in the swing because he doesn't get the upper body behind the swing. Also the back side of his upper and lower body need to be more in sync, which will allow him to focus more on rotating to contact instead of using his arms to swing the bat and try to go hit the baseball instead of letting the baseball travel to his barrel. During tee work Josh needs to focus on keeping his arms stiff during the swing and rotating this will prevent his arms from leaking, and his swing becoming "armsy".
10/02/2011 - National Tryout - Trenton, NJ
Josh lowered his 60 time and raised his velocity at his last workout in Trenton. He was timed at 7.49 in the 60, and he raised his velocity from 69 to 75 MPH. He fields in a low position, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with a loose arm action with average strength to his target. At the plate, Josh has a square set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has good balance, average bat speed, and a level swing. Josh swings in good rhythm, and he has some pop to the pull side.
12/27/2010 - Christmas Camp and Tournament 2010 - Session 2
Bozzi has really improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date but will benefit by staying on a speed / agility program to continue to improve foot quickness. Defensive grades have improved as he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and gets behind balls playing through with momentum to his target. He reads balls well off the bat. Arm strength is now slightly above average as he displays accuracy and carry on his throws. Offensively, hitting abilities and power have improved through a solid setup. Hands work inside the ball as he utilizes all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. He shows a strong recognition of the strike zone as he was 2 for 4 with 3 BB at the event.
10/03/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
Josh is a young OF who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Josh gets in a good ready position, he makes plays, and he uses 2 hands. He has varsity average hands and feet, he fields on the glove side, and he throws with decent accuracy to his target. Josh can improve his skills by taking better angles to the ball and adding arm strength. Offensively, Josh has a balanced approach, varsity average barrel accuracy, and a level swing. He gets his front foot down early, he can spray to all fields, and he puts the ball in play. Offensive numbers can get better with more live hands and better use of his lower 1/2. With 3 seasons ahead Josh will be a player to watch.
