01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Josh is a tall, solid RHP/1B who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, he shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 63-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He shows good mound composure and competes on the mound. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. At the plate, he shows a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. Footwork around the bag is solid and he is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Josh has abilities with time and room to progress his game.
