12/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Josh continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.84 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he shows a feel for the barrel.

02/16/2020 - College PREP - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Josh is an athletic OF/2B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Defensively, Josh shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Josh improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load well and takes a direct swing, driving the ball to the opposite field. Josh can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Josh is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Josh continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He make consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/02/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Josh is an athletic OF/2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, Josh shows a good prep step and makes the routine plays. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistent to his target. At 2B, Josh shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball up the middle. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
