09/01/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Evansville, IN Josh is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Josh covers ground well and makes the routine plays, keeping his throws on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He produces fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives into the gaps. On the mound, Josh shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-62mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 59-62mph with sinking action. Overall, Josh is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

04/22/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Josh worked out at 3B and on the mound during his last workout with the Factory. He showed solid improvements in the INF and also threw well off the mound. Defensively, Josh has good body control to the ball, his footwork is efficient, and he makes plays cleanly. He has a clean release and a quick/accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Josh keeps his eyes on target, his FB touches 71 MPH, and he lands with good direction toward home plate. At the plate, Josh has a square set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes square contact, has solid bat speed, and uses his lower body. Josh can continue to improve with work on the following.

06/21/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Josh is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Josh gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He works through the ball well and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Josh can improve defensively by taking a quicker first step. At the plate, Josh sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He gets back into his load well and comes through the zone with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and power. Josh can improve as a hitter by getting his hips all the way through the zone. Only a 2022 grad, Josh has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

04/09/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Josh is a tall 3B who will graduate in 2022. At 3B, he hustles laterally as he tries to get into a square fielding position. He works to play through the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH displays an athletic/square setup. He stays balanced through contact as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
