10/16/2022 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Josh is a talented 3B/2B in the 2024 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions and showing a strong, athletic frame at the San Bernardino BF event. In the field, he has active feet and centers his body to the baseball. He fielding in an athletic position. He moves well to arm and glove side and his pocket has advanced feel. His exchanges are clean and can get the ball in the air quickly. Uses numerous arm slots based upon his defensive zone. Feeds around the bag are solid and his accuracy plays well. Has arm strength (79 velo) and with more of a follow on his feeds, he will create more push from the ground to add more velo. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and displays a short stride. Gets into his legs well in his load and allows his backside to get through in his swing. Shows pull side production with 83 exit speed. Overall, Josh is a solid player with more room to grow his game.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Josh continues to shine in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/21/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 16U Josh continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

06/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Josh is an athletic 2B/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Josh shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Josh build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and drives the ball to his pull side. Josh can create more consistent contact by working on his contact points. Overall, Josh is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
