As a young catcher behind the dish, there are some innate qualities he currently possesses that make him a natural at the position. Some of those qualities are as follows; active feet, glove presentation, and being quick to his feet after block and recover. In addition, he possesses a good framing technique. With strength gains over the next two years, the arm strength will improve and add to his toolbox as a catcher. At the plate, he has a line-drive approach and squares balls up consistently. Does a good job working through the inside of the ball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
