01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Joshua is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time in Pirate City. On the mound, this righty maintains fluid tempo and works at his pace. He gets to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. He repeats his delivery well and throws strikes. FB sits in the low 70's as he works it to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape complimenting his FB well. He attacks hitters and works ahead in the count. Finishing with more extension (towel drill) on his follow through will help to improve effectiveness. At 3B - Burnett works hard to get into a square fielding position. He makes the backhand play efficiently and has a clean exchange to throw. Presenting his glove and working to field the GB more out in front will help to improve abilities in the INF. As a hitter - this LH swinger stands in with centered balance. He has good zone awareness (drawing 2 walks at the event). His swing is level and repeatable. Improving his rhythm to load and creating more extension through contact will help to improve skills at the plate. A 2018 grad - Joshua has tools with still time to progress.
