Joshua improved his foot speed at the event as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on changeup with arm side run. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength.
Baseball Factory Denver All-Star Experience (Ages 14-18)
Joshua is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher keeps eyes on target throughout delivery and works with good tempo. Works in-line towards the plate and ability to throw strikes. Will attack hitters on the inner half and showed good composure on the mound. Throws a FB that sits 69-72mph with good tailing action, a breaking ball with 10/4 shape, and a developing changeup he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 inning of work, he struck out 5 batters and induced weak contact. A right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and narrow stance. Small hand load, with looseness to hands, and a short/square glide step to contact. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 73mph. Reached base 5 times with a double, a single, and 3 walks in live game action. In the OF, aggressive routes to balls and ability to make routine plays. Fields baseball out front from a low/square fielding position. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 77mph into infield. Throws are accurate with good momentum towards target. With another year of growth and development, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.
01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS)
Joshua is an OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. In the field, Joshua shows efficient footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He works through a short swing and produces solid line drives. On the mound, Joshua shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 62-63mph with tailing action. Overall, Joshua is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City
Joshua continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and worked hard on his game at Pirate City. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a 2B and sac fly. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and developing off speed pitches will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Garvin is coachable player who works hard and makes adjustments quickly. He plays the game with high energy and leaves it all on the field.
08/23/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - St Cloud (Minneapolis), MN
Garvin continues to work hard on his game. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and is aggressive to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. At the plate, this righty gets loaded and waits for a pitch he likes. He looks to square the ball up and hit line-drives back up the middle of the field. More power potential is there with more drive from his lower 1/2. On the mound, he maintains a good pace and repeats he delivery well. FB shows slight cutting action as he works it in and out. Breaking ball has 9/3 shape - 56-58 mph. Joshua (2022 grad) still has time to progress his skill-set to get to where he wants to be.

Joshua continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. With 3 years to further develop, Joshua has abilities with time and room to progress his game.
