12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Joshua showed on the mound and in the OF for the first time at the event. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 6. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard to be the best player he can be, and is a great team player.
