06/02/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Joshua continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed range of 90-91 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and works to get ahead, utilizing both sides of the plate. Defensively at 3B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward his target. Exchange is clean with strong throws. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (84 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. Joshua has a big upside and will get looks from top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Joshua is a big, strong 3B who is a prospect on the diamond. He displays tremendous tools across the board. At 3B, defensive abilities are excellent with hands / feet working well together as he as he displays big play potential. Arm strength is at a pro level as indicated by his top velocity of 92 mph. At the plate, hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
