05/12/2019 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Joshua is a 3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Joshua fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He shows the ability to throw from multiple arm slots and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He drives through well with his lower half and drives the ball to all fields with gap-to-gap pop. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off when centered. Overall, Joshua is a solid prospect who will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Joshua is a tall, strong, and athletic 1B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through the baseball. He is aggressive and attacks balls, displaying leverage in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power shows best to the pull side. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Joshua has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
