02/18/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Joshua is a 1B/3B prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame athletic build with plenty of room to add more strength throughout. At 1B, he presents a big target with ability to scoop balls. He works to center the baseball and showed ability to make glove side turns on his throws to second base. Fields from a square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and fields out front. He made accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 80mph. At 3B, he showed efficient footwork with ability to make routine plays. Showed a good glove angle and has a low funnel. Made on-line throws consistently to first base. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and closed stance. He hits into a firm front side, with strength at contact, and a fast bat through the hitting zone. Hit hard line drives to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
