01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Joshua is a lean, athletic prospect who shows the ability to play multiple positions and a high ceiling with his skills. He has a cannon for an arm at his age, reaching 81mph on the gun, and uses it to his advantage in centerfield to keep runners from taking extra bases. His feet are active in the outfield with agile lateral agility that gives him plenty of range to runs balls down in both gaps. He fields cleanly and athletically, while coming through the ball to gain momentum and throw with carry to his target. At the dish, this RHH has a square stride with active hands that load to a stacked position. His swing is smooth through the zone as he stays balanced and works his hands to and through the ball, showing the ability to use all fields. Working on a two hand finish through contact will result in more power he generates to the ball and more hard hit line drives moving forward. Joshua is an exciting, young prospect with lots of potential that he looks primed to reach.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
