07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Joshua is an athletic and talented 2023 Utility prospect that was eager to learn and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. In the OF, Joshua is on time with his prep step and reads the ball off the bat well. He creates good angles to the ball, he's aggressive on ground balls, and knows how to back up the bases. He needs to continue to increase arm strength and learn how to effectively use a crow hop to throw. At the plate, Joshua starts in a squared stance, loads the hands back, and stays balanced through contact. He sees the ball deep into the contact zone and hits the ball to all fields. Continuing to keep a quiet head and creating back hip rotation into the ball will prevent his front side from flying open. Joshua worked hard and was a grinder all week. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
