01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Dallas, TX Joshua continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 86-87 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Command / control is outstanding as he locates well to both sides of the plate. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying excellent hitting abilities with tremendous power potential. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through a simple / aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Joshua has the makings of a special type of player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

05/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Dallas, TX Joshua is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build with some strength present with room to fill out. Ran a 6.96 60-yard dash. On the mound, Joshua shows good athleticism and a fast arm. He works with good tempo and keeps eyes on target throughout delivery. Works off of a FB that was up to 82mph with tailing action. Mixed in a 10/4 breaking ball and a slider that comes out of same window as breaking ball. Throws a changeup with FB arm speed and good sinking movement. Good FB/CH combo. FB was his best pitch during his bullpen session. Right-handed hitter starts with an upright and open stance. Showed some quickness to hands, with a strong top hand, and some late barrel whip. Linear bat path, as he hit balls into both gaps, and recorded a bat exit velocity of 85mph during his round of BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee Joshua having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
