ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Joshua is a maturing two-way player graduating in 2022. At the plate, Joshua has a tall stance with a short stride. He does a nice job tracking the baseball and takes a short swing while engaging his hips for power. In the field, Joshua is a hustling 2B who is continuing to get better. More active footwork can increase Joshua's range to compliment his short 3/4 arm action. As a RHP, Joshua throws from a high 3/4 arm slot featuring a FB ranging from 55-61 MPH. His mechanics are balanced as he separates on time, extends through his delivery, and rotates his hips to his target. Joshua does a nice staying on line and finishing ready to field his position. Joshua is hardworking prospect that will continue to get better with strength.

01/10/2016 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Joshua is an athletic 2-way player as a RHP/2B. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has on-time separation, stays directional and repeats his delivery well. FB tops out at 55 mph while slider has 11/5 shape. At 2B, he has active footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. He gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. He can turn the DP efficiently with active footwork around the 2B bag. Offensively, this righty shows a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He swings on a direct path to and through the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
