11/12/2017 - College PREP - Davie, FL Joshua is a long, lean 2021 two-way player who is slightly more advanced as a third baseman. He shows advanced instincts at the dish with knowledge of the strike zone and bat to ball skills to put the ball in play. He finds the barrel consistently on a direct path to the ball to make solid contact to all fields. He has a patient approach and tracks the ball well to pick out pitches he can drive. At third, he plays with a lot of energy and uses his feet well to field from the right to gain momentum to his target. He fields the backhand well with a solid glove angle and good eyes to see the ball in. On the bump, he shows a three-pitch mix including a two-seam fastball up to 73mph, an 11-5 curveball with depth and a deceptive changeup. He gets a good push from his lower half and picks up his target early to work in live to the plate. Loosening up his arm stroke can unlock more velocity moving forward. Joshua is an interesting, young prospect we look forward to seeing more of.
