07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Joshua continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate / carry (81 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-71 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Tomball (Houston), TX Joshua is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. Ran his 60-yard dash in 7.01 seconds. At SS, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and has quick/active feet. He takes aggressive angles towards baseball with the ability to play through the ball. He fields from an athletic/square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a low funnel. He made accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 80mph. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance. A small hand load, with knob to C, and showed a good approach. Showed a short barrel path as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of growth and development, Joshua should make huge strides on the baseball diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
