02/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Joshua continues to show improvements in all his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.11 runner. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

10/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Joshua is an athletic 2B who will graduate in 2023. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Joshua has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
