01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Joshua is a solid two-way prospect (OF/RHP) in the class of 2022. This strong 5’11/190 athlete demonstrated the ability to handle the bat, move well in the field and create outs on the mound recently at the AZ preseason event. In the field, his arm strength (87 velo) and range (6.95 60) prove he can play all three positions. He works through the baseball well with clean smooth actions. Following his throw will take stress off his arm and incorporate his lower half. On the mound, he attacks hitters and uses all three pitches for strikes (8 K’s in 3 innings). His fastball gets up to 86 with run. His CB/SL combination sat 72/74 with similar 10/4 shape and medium break. Using more of his front side (chest to glove), will help him work downhill and move his body to the target. At the plate, he has power potential with an 89 exit velo. He can spray the baseball to all fields with his direct barrel path. He loads his swing well and is on time for hard consistent contact. Has the ability to stay a two-way player at the next level.

11/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Las Vegas, NV Joshua is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build, with thick lower half, and strength present. In the OF, shows fluid feet, with good agility, and ability to cover ground in all directions. Fields ball out front from an athletic fielding position. Good reads off the bat enable him to flip his hips and works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm, and throws were accurate/on-line into the infield at 87mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher gathers over the rubber, with good balance, and works downhill. Works with good tempo and separates his hands on-time with extension out front. Has a simple and repeatable delivery. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 79-83mph with good command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and even stance. Starts with a square stride, with a small hand load, and has a fast bat through the hitting zone. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls hard to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. With another year of development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
