10/06/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO Josiah is a young 2-way player who plays OF and catcher. In the OF, Josiah has playable hands and feet, and he takes good angles to the ball. He surrounds it well, keeps the ball in front, and he throws with accuracy to his target. Behind the plate, Josiah has firm hands, he sticks the ball well, and he has solid flexion. He has good direction, and a long arm action with accuracy to 2nd base. At the plate, Josiah has an upright stance, a square stride, and a solid stroke. He has solid leverage, a flat finish, and he gets good extension through the ball. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
