07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) JP continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Manalapan, NJ JP is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and OF. In the INF, JP has active footwork, good range, and he fields in a low/square position. He has soft hands, makes plays consistently, and throws with a quick exchange and accuracy across the diamond. In the OF, JP has active feet, aggressive actions to the ball, and a quick/clean exchange with accuracy and momentum toward his target. At the plate, JP has a square set-up, a good base, and he stays inside the ball well. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel, and he hits line drives. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Pre-pitch actions

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
