08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) JT continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He did show at 1B for the first time at the event. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI JT is an athletic RHP who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. He shows a solid mound presence on the bump. Fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his split finger with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (85 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. JT has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
