01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Juan is a 2026 OF out of Miami, FL who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. In the OF, he showed good range and has good instincts. He worked to center the baseball and works with good direction through the baseball. He has a clean funnel off of his right foot. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot into the infield, with momentum towards target, and arm velocity up to 81mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance with high hands. He showed good rhythm to swing and stays balanced throughout swing. Good rotation enables him to hit balls consistently into both gaps. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Juan as he enters his freshman baseball season.

11/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - St. Petersburg (Tampa), FL Juan is an athletic OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight tailing action. With 4 years to further develop, Juan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
