06/10/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One Florida Infante has an electric arm and has fun on the diamond. On the bump, he mixes well keeping hitters off balance with 3 very effective pitches. FB cracks the mitt at 89 mph while he works to stay on top of and down through the ball. He paints the ball inside and out working the corners. Changeup has sink as it compliments his FB well. This versatile athlete also plays the hot corner. He works light on his feet making the plays with fluid actions. With the bat, Julian has a smooth stroke with plus bat speed. He connects as the ball jumps off of his barrel to all parts of the field. A dynamic athlete - Julian makes an impact every time he steps onto the field.

09/21/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series East - Jupiter, FL Infante stands at 6-foot-3 and 196 pounds, with a well proportioned frame and some present strength. He showed a well rounded set of tools, with his hitting ability and raw power leading the way. He hits from an athletic posture with a square setup. His hands work back and he lifts his foot to trigger his lower half. His route to contact was short with his hands, while the route with the barrel has a little bit of length. He worked level through the zone, and generated good bat speed. His most impressive move was in his last game at bat, when he hit a rocket line drive single to LF - it was his loosest and fullest move of the day, and the best example of his ability to accelerate the barrel through the hitting zone. Defensively, he maintained his body control well and showed sure hands. His actions were compact to catch and throw, and he showed plenty of arm strength to make throws across the infield from 3B.

06/13/2012 - 2012 Team One Florida Showcase Infante continues to show as a promising young player. He improved his hitting and power grades at the event through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. At the event he was 2 for 3 with a BB. At 3B, he displays a plus arm with life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. Hands are soft / clean and shows a clean exchange in getting rid of the ball quickly.

01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Julian is a young, solid, 3rd baseman with good skills. In the INF, Julian has fluid / athletic footwork, soft / sure hands, and he covers ground well. He has good lateral range, solid glove skills, and he fields cleanly. Julian has a quick exchange, and he throws with a loose / quick arm with carry and accuracy to his target. Defensive abilities can get even better if Julian can quicken his 1st step and clean up his transfer some. Offensively, Julian has good balance, he tracks the ball well, and he is short to the ball. He has a good stride, he makes solid contact, and his lower 1/2 works well. If Julian can loosen his grip, get more extension through the ball, and work the middle of the field, offensive tool grades can get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
