07/24/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Julian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date and continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and he presents on time and out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. At the plate, he shows an open, athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with 4 BB as he shows a solid eye and patient approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Overall, Julian has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

04/24/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Julian is a LHH 1B who has a projectable build. With the bat, this lefty stands in well with centered balance and a strong base. He whips the barrel through a level path with quick hands and drives the ball with pop. At 1B, Julian is aggressive and hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Overall abilities in his game will work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
