11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Julian is a talented SS/RHP prospect who plays the game with energy. In the field, Julian plays with quick, fluid footwork moving well in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. He receives the ball with soft hands and has a quick exchange. Julian has a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing consistently accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Julian is a switch-hitter who has similar abilities from each side of the plate. He has an athletic setup with a centered balance and firm front side. Julian has a direct swing path getting good extension consistently landing the barrel to the baseball. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. On the mound, Julian has balanced, on-time mechanics and picks up his target early. He has a clean arm action and extends through his release. Julian stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. He has an effective front side and finishes with his chest over his front knee. He works down in the zone and pitches to contact. Overall, Julian is a well-rounded prospect who has a great teammate and has a bright future on the diamond.

09/30/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Julian is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Julian has active feet, he gets in a good ready position, and he centers the ball well on his body. He has a good glove angle, makes plays consistently, and throws with consistency from a loose arm action. On the mound, Julian has a compact delivery, a clean arm circle, and he rotates through toward his target. Offensively, Julian is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right, Julian has has a tall set-up, he loads well, and he hits line drives. From the left, Julian has a line drive approach, he hits from a firm front side, and gets good extension through. Julian can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14).
