In the field, Julian plays with quick, fluid footwork moving well in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. He receives the ball with soft hands and has a quick exchange. Julian has a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing consistently accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Julian is a switch-hitter who has similar abilities from each side of the plate. He has an athletic setup with a centered balance and firm front side. Julian has a direct swing path getting good extension consistently landing the barrel to the baseball. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. On the mound, Julian has balanced, on-time mechanics and picks up his target early. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
