07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Julian is a talented switch hitting OF/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he is athletic, balls on the balls of his feet and is smooth and easy. Has a quick 1st step and shows solid closing speed (7.03 runner). He gains a proper fielding position and is always square to the baseball. Pocket has advanced awareness and his exchanges are clean. Arm plays at 75 and has been up to 79 in the past. Feeds are accurate with life. At the plate, the left side is stronger than the right at this point. Both sides show barrel whip and feel (84 L/ 75 R). From the left, he can generate line drive actions, while the right is more a gap feel. On the mound, he showed a solid feel for the mound and pitches with poise. Showcased a 3-pitch mix from a ¾ slot. His FB sat 69-71 and his CB ranged 56-8 with solid shape. His CH sat 64-6 and was able to throw all 3 for strikes. Overall, Julian is a must follow in the 2027 class.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Julian is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with some strength to the build and room to develop. In the OF, he shows efficient footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Good 1st step reads enable him to work behind/through the ball with a high 1-hand catch. Fields from an athletic fielding position with clean gather off left foot. A long arm stroke in back working into a high 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with accurate/on-line throws and an arm velocity up to 79mph. A right-handed pitcher, he works with good tempo and keeps his eyes on target. He gets a good rear hip coil and rotates to his target. Throws a FB that sat 71-72mph with some movement in the zone, a breaking ball with 10/4 shape that he throws with good arm speed, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed and some sinking action. CH was best pitch during bullpen session. A switch-hitter, from the right side he begins with an athletic and even stance. Gets his hands separated and is centered at contact. A direct barrel path, with good extension out front, and ability to make square contact during BP. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. From the left side, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. He shows good barrel control and has a high finish. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we see him having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
