Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Justice is a wiry RHP/2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his- 60 time of 6.99. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 80-81 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a good feel for pitch. Slider is hard with short / sharp break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active in working to square balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a compact swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. Justice has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
