08/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Newnan, GA Justin is an athletic C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his arm (83 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.15. Offensively, he continues to shine with solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (85 mph exit velocity), flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. Justin has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
