01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This versatile athlete continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the dish, he takes charge and is a proven leader. He is always thinking a play ahead and isn't afraid to throw 'back-picks' catching base runners sleeping. Exchange is quick/clean as he gains ground toward 2B as his throws show life & accuracy. On the bump, he has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a quick/loose arm action. Delivery is compact and repeatable as he works the ball to both sides of the plate, throwing strikes consistently. Slider has 10/4 shape with sharp break complimenting FB well and showing to be a strike-out pitch. Justin can play multiple positions on the diamond which makes him that much more marketable for a team at the next level.

11/30/2014 - College PREP - Tyler, TX Justin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player behind the plate. Arm strength has improved, now showing at a pro level as he topped out at 91 mph. Pop times showed in the mid 1.90 range with accuracy, life, and on line carry through his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He will control the running game at the next level with his feet and arm. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Instincts behind the plate are outstanding through an athletic setup. He presents a low target with soft hands and shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process. Blocking skills will continue to improve as he gets down earlier and creates more consistent angles. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power potential showing best to the pull side. Power grades will continue to improve as he learns to utilize his lower half more aggressively.

01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Danzer showed consistency to his defensive game in his most recent outing with the Baseball Factory. Behind the dish, he sits low, tracks well and is quick with his feet. He flashed pops in the 1.9's again and was quick to block. Offensively, he was direct with the barrel and quiet with his actions. He has good rhythm and flashes bat speed with some juice. In all - Justin shows to be a promising 2015 prospect that will be ready to help a squad next fall.

11/03/2013 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Justin is a tall, lean catcher that will graduate in 2015. Feet are aggressive / active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times are outstanding, showing a range of 1/91-2.25 with accuracy and carry on his throws as he displays superior arm strength. He will control the running game at the next level with his feet / arm strength. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, Danzer shows a crouched / squared stance with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through the point of contact, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he works to level out swing path. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. With 2 years to further develop, Justin has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
