06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Justin is an atheltic C prospect who made adjustments well during his time at the Omaha National World Series. Behind the plate, Justin shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sets up in a square stance and receives the ball with a firm glove. He gains momentum well on his throws to 2B and keeps them on-line to the bag. Justin can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Justin can improve as a hitter by getting his stride foot down earlier. Overall, Justin is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.
