06/17/2019 - National Tryout - New Britain (Hartford), CT Justin showed as a 1B/RHP this time around at the Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout. At 1B, he fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He shows the ability to throw from multiple arm slots and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He drives through well with his lower half and drives the ball to all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 73-76 with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Overall, Justin is a solid prospect who will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Justin is a tall SS prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Justin shows a good ready position and takes a good first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He takes a level swing and consistently produces line drives. Overall, Justin is a solid prospect who should find success in this, his junior season.

10/14/2018 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Justin is a tall, lean SS who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He is aggressive and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Justin has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
