08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Justin is a class of 2023 SS/2B. He shows high levels of athleticism as well as good foot speed. He showed high levels of baseball IQ while base running. In the field, he showed his quick twitch again and got very good reads off the bat. He was able to stay low and work beneath the baseball. He did a good job taking care of the baseball on the transfer before creating momentum to deliver on time and accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, he showed lots of feel for the barrel and looked very comfortable in the box. He showed a clean and repeatable swing. He did a good job staying balanced throughout the swing and incorporates his lower ½ well. Justin is a good prospect who plays the game hard.

03/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Justin is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. At SS, he starts with fluid footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Showed he could make all of the routine plays during his workout. He fields from an athletic fielding position, with his eyes behind his glove, and works through the baseball. Has a low funnel and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 65mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. An on-time glide step, with knob to C, and has natural strength in swing. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up 72mph during his round of BP. Another year of growth and development should enable Justin to make huge strides on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
