11/07/2015 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) At the plate, Justin starts in an athletic, square stance and works through a soft and square stride and activates the hands well into an aggressive launch position with balance. Justin has an aggressive approach and really attacks the baseball with the mindset to do damage and he will. Attacking the inside part of the baseball will keep his stroke to contact shorter and more compact while keeping the eyes down through contact longer will allow for greater extension after impact. Perhaps the best attribute that Justin showed at the event was a great work ethic and an ability to make adjustments. With continued dedication, Justin's ability will reach new heights and help him get to the next level.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Justin is a 2017 grad with a tall, athletic frame projecting in the OF. In the OF, he continues to make the routine plays, transfers smoothly and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, he is a strong RHH with bat whip and a projectable frame meant to drive the ball deep into the gaps. As he continues to gain physical strength and fill out his lean frame, Justin is a middle of the order hitter with serious potential. Overall, Justin is continuing to develop into a next level player.

06/20/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Justin showed consistency in his ability at the Omaha Baseball Factory National World Series. Offensively, he sprayed the ball to all fields with strength. He tracked well and worked to use more lower body in coordination with his hands to boost barrel accuracy and pop. In the OF, he moved well to the baseball - ran his best sixty to date 7.18 - and made plays with good body control. He needs to continue to get reps live off the bat to improve jumps. All in all - Justin has some good athleticism and present foot speed that he can continue to mold into strong baseball play.

03/08/2015 - National Tryout - Hightstown, NJ Justin continues to develop his skills on the diamond. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. Barrel delivery is level as he connects and drives through his finish with extension. More hand separation will allow him to work back into a strong launch position and will allow for more leverage to and through the zone. In the OF, he shows active footwork moving well right and left. He secures the ball, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Gaining more ground with a more aggressive crow-hop and increased arm strength (long toss) will help him to progress his defensive abilities. A 2017 grad - Justin still has a lot of time to develop his tools on the diamond.

12/14/2014 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Justin is an athletic R/R OF who has a projectable frame (6'1"/165). Defensively, he shows active footwork with solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. He gathers well, has a clean exchange and follows through well on his throws. He fires accurate throws with carry into his target. With the bat, this righty displays an athletic/balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. Swing is short/direct to and through a level path as he connects and hits line-drives. Engaging and driving his lower 1/2 will result in increased power at the plate. Only a 2017 grad - Justin is a couple adjustments away from unlocking his potential.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
