12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Justin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved, now showing well above average as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. He displays a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters throwing strikes with all his pitches. He shows good composure and competes on the mound. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he has improved his hitting abilities and power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 2 for 8 with a HR. In the OF, he communicates well with other outfielders. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in working to get behind balls. Range is a plus as he utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard, and is a great teammate.
