07/08/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Justin is a tall/projectable (6'2"/145) LHP who pounds the zone with strikes. He gets to a controlled balance point with smooth separation and fires from a clean/free arm action. FB shows cutting action as he works the ball to both sides of the plate - 78-79 mph. Curveball has 1/7 shape with good action - 64-66 mph. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed, showing sink as it will get GB outs. As a hitter, this lefty shows a square setup with patience. He takes an absolute hack with + bat speed, engaging his lower 1/2 well. The ball jumps off of his bat when centered (exit velocity = 89 mph). Jackson is a talented LHP who has upside.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
