08/08/2017 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Justin is a talented 2-way player with good overall defensive and offensive skills. Behind the plate, Justin sits in athletically, his feet are quick, and hands are soft. He presents his glove well, is quick to block, and delivers the ball with accuracy and carry to 2nd base with pop times as low as 2.06. Continuing to work on blocking and throwing accuracy will help abilities behind the plate improve. At 2nd base, Justin has a good approach, clean hands, and a soft glove. He fields in a square position, shows a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Justin shows good balance and an open stance. He swings in good rhythm, has fast bat speed, and squares the ball up on the barrel consistently hitting line-drives. Justin is a skilled 2-way prospect who has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
