06/22/2012 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 While in Omaha, Justin showed a lot of improvements since we first saw him earlier this year. He worked out both behind the plate and at 1st base during his time in Omaha. As a catcher, Justin has fluid actions, he blocks and receives well, and his exchange is quick and clean. He has a good arm with accuracy to 2nd base and does an outstanding job on foul pop ups. At 1st base, Justin has good lateral range, he keeps the ball in front, and he makes plays consistently. Offensively, Justin has a good set-up, nice bat speed, and pull side pop. He swings at good pitches, he gets late explosion through the ball, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. He was one of the best hitters at the event and got better with the bat as the event went on. Justin is a hard worker and should be a good player at the next level.
