12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Justin is an athletic 2019 middle infield prospect. At SS, Justin has an active prep step, works from the ground up, and throws from multiple arm slots. He presents a low/early glove and creates angles to the ball. Continuing to read the pace of the play, and getting into the right position to throw will help him make the routine play more consistently. At the plate, Justin has an athletic stance, loads his hands back, and gets his front foot down on time. Continuing to get the hands into the launch position and being aggressive on the fastball will allow him to make hard contact on the ball. Using the lower half and attacking the inside part of the ball will increase his bat speed as well. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Justin.

12/10/2017 - College PREP - Nyack (NYC), NY Justin is an athletic SS with a strong lower body. Defensively, Justin has quick feet to the ball, he presents his glove well, and flashes soft hands. He has a clean exchange, good feel around the bag, and delivers the ball with accuracy from a long arm action to his target. If Justin can play lower and more through the ball, we could see a spike in defensive numbers. At the plate, Justin has an athletic set-up, a square stride, and he hits from a solid base. He has fast bat speed, makes consistent/hard contact, and he uses his lower body well. A more level swing, less hand movements, and better timing will help hitting numbers rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
