07/07/2015 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Justin is a young, lean OF/3B that will graduate in 2019. He has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup and aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through a level / direct swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power grades will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He plays hard with defensive grade improving as he increases foot quickness and gets more reps. At 3B, he continues to play hard with energy. Feet / hands work well through the fielding process, displaying a clean glove. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he presents hands more out front and increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Justin has a lot of potential and he will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
