10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Justin is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. Behind the plate, Justin sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through the 2B bag. He is on time moving to block and covers up well. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with plus bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Justin is a solid prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Justin is a C/2B prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Justin sits in an athletic primary stance and receives with a quiet glove. He gets into an athletic secondary stance and shows proper footwork to throw. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. Justin tucks his chin when blocking and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with plus barrel control, leading to solid line drives. With four more years to develop, Justin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Justin is a coachable C/2B prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Justin shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sets up in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange with a quick release on his throws to 2B, keeping them consistently on-line to the bag. Justin can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed and sprays the ball to all fields. Justin can improve as a hitter by improving his barrel accuracy. With five more years to develop, Justin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Justin is a young catcher with good skills. Defensively, Justin has efficient footwork to the ball, his hands are soft, and his actions are quiet. He blocks and receives well, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a quick/loose arm to 2nd base. Offensively, Justin has an athletic set-up, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, makes hard/consistent contact, and he gets his lower body through the zone. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
