12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Justin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he had an outstanding showing, going 6 for 7 with 3 2B and a 3B. Behind the plate, pop times showed in showed in the 2.12 range with accuracy and carry on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He moves well laterally through the blocking process, centering balls and is a wall behind plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
